Despite a busy Saturday night, I sat at the bar and received prompt service from the Bartender. My salmon with dirty rice was cooked to perfection, and I had to order the best ever mustard greens!

I was really impressed with this place. I had been craving Cajun food and decided to check it out. You don't need a reservation but you can get on the list ahead of time online. It felt like a perfect, casual neighborhood spot inside. Service was attentive and friendly. And the food and drinks were really good, especially for the price. We went during crawfish season and got a small bucket of crawfish as well. It can be hard to find sit down places in Austin that you can walk into on a Saturday night and get affordable and tasty food, so this place will be added to the rotation.

Been twice over the last 3 months. Great service. The meals have well received by the family. Fried oysters are great.

The lunch menu offered a fried seafood meal. We had a catfish and shrimp combo and a shrimp meal. The seafood was delicious and the shrimp was very tasty. We also had the peach cobbler, and it was good, even though there wasn't a lot of peaches and crust. It did have a good amount of vanilla ice cream with two scoops.

This was my friend and my first time dining at Cypress Grill. The waitlist option they offer online saved us a lot of wait time on a Friday night. The place was busy. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere. I started off with the Rum the Jewels cocktail. It was balanced and delicious as well as reasonably priced. My friend ordered monthly special, crawfish enchiladas. She said they and the cheese grits were amazing. I ordered the catfish atchafalaya. The fish was moist, the étouffe was generous and full of crawfish, and the dirty rice was perfect for gathering all of it together. I tried the special side: sautéed cabbage with brown sugar and bacon. The cabbage still had some crunch, and the dish was a little bit salty and a little bit sweet, and completely delicious. I definitely recommend Cypress Grill if you're looking for some down home Cajun food done right.

Came in for lunch and was able to get a table right away. The server was friendly and fast. The restaurant itself is clean and welcoming. Let's get to the good part, the food! Chicken Atchafalaya- This was simply amazing! The chicken was cooked and breaded perfectly, topped with crawfish étouffée, the grits were nice and cheesy. This dish was super tasty! 5 of 5 stars! Muffuletta- Huge sandwich filled with deliciousness. 5 of 5 stars! Trout meunière- my friend said it was really good I'll definitely be back for more of the menu!

Back again and just as impressed! This is truly some delicious bona fide Cajun/Creole food in Austin. We sat on the patio since the weather is nice, and it was really lovely. Perfect amount of shade and comfy sized tables. This time I opted to try the crawfish étouffe, sub dirty rice instead of white rice. Absolutely incredible! Such a warmth and depth of flavor. I also got to try the catfish po-boy - another great dish! They import the French bread from New Orleans, and it was on point. I tried some of the catfish on its own, and the taste seemed a little off, but it could've just been a bad piece. Again, I can't recommend this place enough for anyone looking for a taste of home away from home or to try Cajun food for the first time.

A surprise while dining at Cypress Grill and enjoying our cajun cuisine where we were told they had king cakes from Joe Gambino's Bakery for sale. The cake was cold since it was from Louisiana, but after it thawed at home it tasted really good. This is the best king cake over ones sold in neighboring grocery stores. But in the meantime I enjoyed the fried catfish with dirty rice from the weekday lunch special. The catfish had tremendous flavor with a tasty breading and dipped it into the tartar sauce. The dirty rice was fulfilling and delightful too. The king cakes they had in stock were cinnamon and creme cheese.

I met my friend here for brunch. It was a bit misty but the covered deck was lovely. They have little window shades and heaters- which we didn't need but it's a nice option. It's brunch so you must have a mimosa. I got the grapefruit one and it was lovely. My friend had a cranberry one and she enjoyed hers as well. We ordered a lot of food because we planned on sharing it. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. We shared the French toast. My friend said they fly in the bread from New Orleans. I'm not sure if this is true but it was great. She ordered an omelette and I got Creole Eggs Benedict. We shared the sides of fried okra, home fries, and fruit. The home fries weren't anything special but our main dishes were good. I do wish my english muffin was cooked a bit more. It wasn't crispy and kind of mushy so I basically just ate the eggs. Our waitress was great. I forgot to ask for her name. :( Dogs are allowed on the patio. Next time, I'll bring my furry BFF Roxie. :) Have a great day Yelp friends!
